D-ROM WELCOMES… CARMEN.D

Born in the heart of the 70s where the funk was raging, at age 11, Carmin.D discovered a passion for electronic music.

At 21 he made his first experiments in France DJing in clubs. Always guided by the jazz sound, funk and disco, Carmin.D launched into deep house. At 26 he created his first mix called “SENSE BEAT”. While skirting the dancefloor, alone or with his liveband (Live Natural Sound Experience), Carmin.D produced with Madji’k as the Creamynals with twelve titles in Australia NINE09 Recs and four titles under the name Sound Deluxe.

In 2004, feeling saturated by the atmosphere of marketing in music, Carmin.D adopted the doctrine of “House Music for Adults” and opened his first official website: www.carmindj.net. After a radio promotional tour he decided to distribute free promotional mixes on his website.

Through his artwork Carmin.D discovered what he calls the “Underground Deep House”, a cultural movement and very colorful house music, deep house, funk, jazz and disco from the UK and U.S. The promotional mix “Baby Boogie” (2009) of Carmin.D was greeted like a real bomb in the underground, it has been downloaded more than 25,000 times in 1 week and has had more than 8,000 radio plays in 1 month. After such success, Carmin.D decided to produce his titles under his own name…

Launched in early 2008, the vision of Upbeat Music is to become a single point of contact for dance music producers, making quality the only barrier to success, by eventually combining the elements of a promotions company, a record label and an online store.

In its first 12 months, Upbeat has established a solid roster of both new and established trance artists including Haris C, Michael Splint, Michael Angelo & Jim, Mark Versluis, Bissen, Andy Tau and Indecent Noise.
