After a hard, but enjoyable, year the D-Rom system was fully launched in early summer and has since gone from strength to strength. Hundreds of new tracks are being uploaded for free distribution each week, enabling our influential DJ members to create DJ mixes and promote them through club use. We’ve a lot of great new talent, with leading DJ’s, producers – and now club venues – signing up to make use of the system as an effortless promotional tool, plus additionally to create and release their mix albums.

Our initial schedule has established the D-Rom framework, with mix albums selling to the global market is doubling month on month , as the system beds in.

More exciting news is that we’re currently working towards the launch of the direct-to-consumer B2C version of the D-Rom website. This will enhance our brand presence in the market place, an important additional distribution outlet to work alongside all of the established digital download platforms.

Not wishing to rest on our laurels, we’ll also be upgrading the initial http://www.d-rom.com industry-oriented website to a Beta 2 version in spring next year . This will enable even more ease of use when creating and uploading mixes and music. We’ll make some light alterations in order to achieve a more smooth-running system.

Part of this involves a change to the way in which audio is uploaded for use in mixes. With the arrival of the Beta 2 upgrade only WAV files can be accepted for use in DJ mixes. The files can either be sent to us on a physical CD, or uploaded to our FTP site (you will be provided with log-in details). If you’ve previously uploaded files to the D-Rom site in MP3 versions please note that those will need to be replaced with fresh WAV file versions. Obviously, it’s imperative that replacement files are uploaded, or sent through to us, as quickly as possible, in order that DJs can continue to make use of your tracks in their mixes.

With all of this activity, coinciding with the distracting Festive season and the annual New Year dance industry product lull, the big D-Rom marketing campaign is being primed to launch from March 2011.

Look out for more D-Rom information very soon.
